My 54G Mixed Reef (pic intense)

Back from my trip and all looks well. Reefmeister2, whats up with having to push all those buttons to change your water? That seems like a whole lot more work. JK. I like your setup but mine is much closer to this.

I did decide to rearrange one last time (yeah right), and here are the results.

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/58279226@N00/192691943/" title="Photo Sharing"><img src="http://static.flickr.com/69/192691943_445644914a_o.jpg" width="600" height="449" alt="v4" /></a>

I think it added a lot more depth to the tank, and creates a nice ledge up high for sps.

Traded a couple extra cleaners for the first coral in the tank.

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/58279226@N00/192691942/" title="Photo Sharing"><img src="http://static.flickr.com/70/192691942_a54d195572_o.jpg" width="600" height="449" alt="firstcoral" /></a>

I am trading off the rest of the extra cleaners to a club member tonight, so I will add pics of those when I get em.

Thanks, I had been avoiding resting anything on the slotted glass but after looking a lot more closely at your setup I decided to give it a go. Really nothing is putting force on the glass it is just touching in a few spots. The rocks are very secure but, in the event of a avelanche the rocks would tumble away from the glass rather than towards it, while the other way I had a 50/50 chance as to which way the rocks could fall. So I am actually more comfortable with this from a saftey standpoint, and I think it is more asthetically pleasing as well (always a good combo).

I like the last picture the best. Nice job arranging the rocks, looks like you have plenty of room to place corals with that setup.

A couple more cleaners are gone and heres what I got....

No worries Keith, you still need to PM me your paypal so I can pay for shipping.

Could that be some sort of nudibranch? Did you post an ID request elsewhere? Whatever it is, it's cool looking. Hope it's reef safe. LOL I can't even tell if it's a creepy crawly or something that doesn't move...

Just taking it slow right now. This just came out of the quarantine tank....

The bad news is I have seen quite a few parasitic isopods in the tank  . Oh well, no fish for a while!
The tank is actually skimmerless right now as I decided to put the CSS on my 29 and buy a PCI Octopus 200nw. This is obviously WAY to much skimmer for this tank but, hey at that price I just couldn't pass it up and my 29 needed the upgrade from the berlin airstone skimmer anyway.

Octopus skimmers are really nice. Considering i got my nw 150 for 140 including shipping!! It is rated for 250 gallons i think and i only have 80. A little overkill?? nahh

Dan,
The heater is finally on its way. Should be there on Wednesday.

have fun trying not to get shocked.

I figure if it is too big I am planning a 120 FOWLR next year so I can use it for that.

Keith, I too sometimes worder about my sanity. After all who in their right mind goes around trying to find a malfunctioning heater that will without a doubt put current in the water :eek2: .

Dan
