My 55g reef :)

A few new additions I'm going to try my hand with the goniopora(flowerpot) also added a new acan pretty sweet green and purple, and two new mushrooms. Pictures up as soon as I get off the couch to take them... Also good news after almost three weeks of my toadstool being closed up, he is finally back my tank has missed his presence :)

Very cool, didn't know toadstools. Could be so temperamental! Good to know. Love to see some pics when you can! Congratulations!

Yeah I've read alot and asked alot about them. They seem to go though a "grow phase" where they close up and get a waxy surface for sometime, mine had the waxy surface along with a huge algae growth on it. I was tired of looking at one of my favorites covered in algae so I took out the turkey Baster and blasted all the algae off and presto!! The coral opens later that night!!!

Yeah I figured it's a cool enough coral that I figured I give it a shot! So far it has been fully extended. Med flow med placement in the tank and I've spot fed it once not sure if it actually got anything though

Still with plans to upgrade the lights and filtration, also heading flying down to southern Cali for reefapoolza/ my birthday. Pretty excited for that trip how could it get better a reef festival and skimmboarding in laguna!!

The hammer was one of my first corals in the tank it's doubled in size and at night when it's closed I can see a start on a new head!

Ah, I see where he is in the tank now, the previous pics were just a little blurry. Just a question, below or at the base of the hammer is some tan growth. Is that a polyp or aiptasia? I ask because I've been removing something that looks similar on the off chance it aiptasia. (post 92 bottom pic, bottom right).

Oh post #92 is actually my yellow tip torch, and that is actually a Kenya tree that I've been meaning to remove, although I do have an aiptasia problem going on too seems they grow near all my zoos and nice corals. I'll post a picture tomorrow some time of removing an aiptasia. I use the aiptasia x or whatever it's called

Ugh just woke up in a panic when I noticed that my goniopora had fallen off on top of the candy cane, think I'm starting to really hate corals with sleeper tentacles, damage doesn't appear to be too bad but the coral is known to die if any damage occurs..
