Looks like a pretty good start!

I bought water from the machines at safeway for a year before i picked up an ro, i have noticed a big difference in my corals since making the switch. Its also such a p.i.t.a to go to the store and lug the containers back and forth every week. If you keep an eye on the for sale forum and/or craiglist you can probably find a decent price on one.

I cant tell for sure but it looks like you dont have the air line check valves installed into the top loop of your overflows. You will need those in order to remove the air pocket from that top look so that it will maintain a true siphon even with a power failure or turning off your return pump. I got mine at PetCo or Petsmart... cant remember which but they are like $2.99 ea. I attached a pic of one in the box, as well as a pic of mine on my overflows.
