My 57G Reef - Question on fish load

Well, I finally recovered from Ich and have added my first 2 fish back to my tank. Now I am ready to start the quarantine process for my next fish and I am looking for input on what to add and how many fish I should add. I don't want to over do it so I am thinking about maybe just 1 or 2 more fish and then maybe a cleaner shrimp. For the fish I was thinking about some sort of goby and then maybe a coral beauty angel.

Thanks for your input!
Pat

wow awesome setup. I have 2 clowns, purple dartfish, royal gramma, carpenters wrasse, and dragon goby in my 55 gal and it doesn't seem to be overloaded. I do a 10 gal. water change monthly, I'll be adding a 20 gal sump in the next couple weeks though.

I dont see a problem with your stock list and you probably could add another small fish. Keep an eye on the coral beauty because some of the cyntropyge angels will nip at your corals. It is an individual case with each fish.

I agree with the stocking list. Centropyge tend to nip meaty corals and sometimes clams. But not always.

I had to bring my lemon peel angel back cause he was tormenting my corals. Problem is I never seen him do it. Corals looked aweful and wouldn't come out. Till one day I pulled him out and the corals started looking better almost over night. Needless to say I'll never do another dwarf angel.

I recall reading that Lemonpeels are more prone to nipping than Coral Beauties. Not sure if this is accurate or not though. Thanks.

My stock list in the same tank with great success is...

purple tang
Flame angel
Two picasso clowns
arch eye hawk
Candy basslet
Midas blenny
Yellow watchman
3 chromis
3 talbot damsels
Yellow coris wrasse

I am running a reef octo xp1000 on a 20 long sump. I try to change 5 to 10 gallons a week, but its usually every couple weeks or so. Maybe I am overstocked, but been great so far, my sps is growing like crazy. My rock is really old and I cooked it for a month or so to get the bacteria really going. I am not suggesting you do this, just putting it out there.
