Well after the episode on the glucose, i was asked as to what could have helped prevent it, so after many hours of discutions with bev and dear daddy, the new sump was built and did its job great untill bev smashed it,dont ask its too complex to explain lets say claw hammer foot and speed = 50 gallons of salt water on floor, so againup pops daddy and said look stop bloody building one and do as you said tome with pond buy a propper one, so i just said yeah right you buy me one, shocked with the answer find one cheep enough then, so i did afull fit filtration system from stoke on trent now resides more or less the full length of my wall, the cab is undergoing a referb at the mo so more pics will come up later but here's a few foryou, with discriptions
Tank is 84"x26"x26" 12mm glass and 20mm thick base, double 55mm wiers, two glass racking shelfs one on each end, two wier systems on oneach end, full under rock reef clean, rear wall reef clean, four return pipes, two internal loops,
as you see theres 5 pipes remember the down pipes are 55mm so that shows how wide the others are
the pipe running into tank (neer wire's) is for the backwall reef clean, the one going over the backof the tankis the lower reef clean, one coming to front of tank (bottom pipe) aims back at rock work, theres a 3000lphpump down the wier for the rear clean a 1200 for front one and the one for the bottom runs on a eihem 1060 (external),
same again minus the drains the one with the splitter is return pipe
cabenet left under the return section,as can see the loop on this side is fed back to tank via the uv powered by a 1060
right side of cab as you see twin over flows leading to seperate sides of the sump,
full sump shots, set into 3 chambers calerpa, dsb and return with a builtin trickle filter fed from chamber one into return section by maxi 1200
now some pics of how it is well yesterday as i have done replacement edging (shush dont tell bev i used a iron lol)
