Just thought I'd share....My 70 gallon (36x18x24) has been set up for 5 months now. I bought it, as shown, for $250. It came with 2 175w MH, 2 65w pc's, a Mag 5, two powerheads, titanium heater, sump, skimmer, and a few odds and ends.

What I started with; a 29g. It was a year old here.

I WANT A HIPPO TANG!~ haah
very nice i must say very nice, is there anything in specifiic you added to get that coraline growth besides, "kent microvert" and calcium ?

Very nice purchase (steal)!
I got a RR, drilled with 2 corner overflows, 100 gallon with 4x96W PC lighting, custom stand and hood, 1/3 hp chiller, two 6-7 inch hepatus tangs, two medium yellow tangs (that I have to separate one out to another tank), two clows, and 125 pounds of fiji rock for $250.
Plus it was on the 3rd floor of my building so I only had to move it up to the penthouse instead of having to haul it in and out of my SUV I was able to put it on pallets and take it upstairs in the elevator really easy!

Day after moving it to my house.
This is what happens to Fiji rock when you light it for 4 hours a day with only 2x96 PC for a year. *headdesk*

Today.
I didn't need to seed it or anything, it just rebounded on it's own with proper lighting and care.

I've only recently been adding 2 part B-Ionic, but I think the halide (singular; I didn't like the way one was wired) has alot to do with it. I'm sure the bulb is way past its lifespan, but it works just fine for me.

I had an actinic 65w pc, but the bulb broke, and for the time being I put a white one in it. I want to upgrade to VHO someday.

Looking good, Sarah! Looks like you got a better deal than I did!

Thanks for the replies, guys!

UPDATE:

Here it is on 6-15-06:

You can see I added two Seio 1100's. Talk about pushing some water! They're almost too much.

Thx, gazer. We completely reworked our kitchen a couple of years ago. They used to be a really dark stain with orange - yes, orange - formica countertop. I sanded everything down, replaced the countertop, sink, door knobs and hinges, then repainted it all white. I also added an over-the-stove microwave/hood combo, and I had to cut two doors down to size and re-route the edges to match, so I already had the router bit to do the doors on the base.

The stand was originally black. I repainted it, routed the doors to match the cabinets, then added the knobs. I had originally planned to get another section of countertop and make a whole new stand and canopy and make it an extension of the cabinets, but we're planning on moving soon so I decided not to go through all that trouble. Besides, I've been given permission to do a big inwall when we build the new house! :D
