I recently got this tank from a family friend who had freshwater in it. I got the tank and cheap-o steel stand. I wasn't planning on keeping the tank but after a couple cold ones, the diamond hole-saw starting looking at me funny. I checked the tank to see if it was tempered, and saw that I was good to go on the sides. While looking at the bottom, I noticed a manufacturer label of AGA. I decided to drill the tank then... why?.... I have no idea. After the tank was drilled, I painted the back of the tank black, and the bottom white. Now that the tank was all cleaned out, painted, and drilled, I figured I might as well just set the thing up. The stand it came with wasn't going to cut it so I built a new one. I went over to my fathers house to build the stand there because he has more tools than I, and I figured some father-son time would be nice. We just built the frame of the stand and plan to skin it later. Once the stand was back at my house, I placed the tank on it, and put them in their resting place.
I have a frag tank that will be placed next to the 75 and they will be plumbed into the same sump. The frag tank will come later since it currently is my display and has fish and coral in it. Once the 75 is cycled, I'll transfer all the livestock into there and then move and plumb in the frag tank. Plans for the 75 is to be SPS only.
Where the tank will go. I plan on blacking out the two windows that the tank is in front of. They don't get much sunlight, but I'd rather just do it.
Sump lay out. Left side is drain and skimmer, middle is return, and right is fuge. I used acrylic baffles because I wanted to route teeth into the fuge section. I've never used a router in my life, so it came out ok in my book.
