my 8 inch blueline has a red sore at the beginning of his tail

I have this big guy in a 30 gal qt . he's on his second dose of prazi .
he is eating like a pig but today noticed the beginning of his tail end of his body is red and looks like it is getting a growth on it .he is moving to fast to get a picture any clue what it could be . I am doing a 15 gal water change tomorrow as it is the end of second prazi treatment.

Are you treating prophylactically or did you confirm flukes?

no I am about 80% sure he had flukes he was doing that angel twitch and shake in the bucket when I got him and the place I got him from is knowen to have them a lot.he is fine now .

You will probably need to do a couple more doses of Prazi. Usually 2 doses isn't enough.

well just dipped him and he still has flukes I have never had to do more than 2 treatments I just finished 2nd one yesterday how long before 3rd ?

Sometimes it takes more than 2 doses. I've had to resort to using formalin dips. You could wait a day or two if you want before redosing.

do u use par guard ? or marycen ? which is better?

What do you need to treat? I've used Maracyn for bacterial infections.
