Lol I notice sand issues now with my
10s and my 12" shallow tank. I never used tunze. Are they any good? I like the fact that my lights and pumps can communicate with each other.

tunzes are great, you can also make waves with them on controllers. You might want to checkout the new jebao wp25. its a mix between a tunze and a vortech for like 1/3 of the cost. completely controllable, but the only problem is, you can't have them act with the lights. You can only do that with a vortech.

I recommend tropic eden reef flakes as your sand as it is heavy enough to not blow away with heavy flow.

I called ecotech and they said my mp10's will be enough as long as I keep them close to full power. We will see. If anything, I'll get one mp40 and keep 1 mp10. I def will not buy one of those knock offs. I don't trust that company. I rather spend the extra money and get an ecotech product for the extra quality!

:deadhorse1: I hate to beat this dead horse, but your sig says you use 2 mp10s in your 30g. Even if you're upping the power, you're increasing volume by 50g. Just food for thought :) :deadhorse1::deadhorse1::deadhorse1:

Yes that's correct. Apparently, A single mp10 can handle a 24"x24" tank on full power. My mp10s are on 40%, and there is almost a 1" wave. I'll give it a shot and see what happens. If need be, I'll just pick up a 40.

Idk about that jebao. The fact that they call it Eco-tech frightens me. I will be using the same sand I have in my 30. I believe it's the Carib-sea Agronite something idk.. It's not sugar sand, so that's a plus!

I switched from two tunze 6100's on a 7095 controller to two MP40's and couldn't be happier. My tank is a perfecto 75 gallon reef ready (piece of junk).

Nice thing if you decide to go with MP40's is that if you decide to go with a larger tank down the line you will still be set with your power heads.

it is a standard tank with black trim around the top and black silicone that is coming apart. It has a corner overflow and it is really difficult to get detritus into it. Overall it is not a nice looking tank nor is it well made. It also had scratches on the inside glass that didn't show up until it was home and filled with water. Wish I could afford to get a quality tank built (reef savvy <3 )

you might also want to look at the RLSS R6-i Protein Skimmer. It looks like a real winner.

For some reason this post didn't show up in Tapatalk. Looks like you need to get a new tank lol. I'm sure it can't be that bad! I never heard of that skimmer. I'll def look into it.

Just ordered this tank from a local shop and it will be almost exactly the same as yours. I went with 2 Radion G2s and an MP40. I'll probably add an MP10 in the future. Using a 40B sump also, still trying to figure out a skimmer.

1 MP40 will definitely be enough for the tank. I had mine running on nutrient export mode for a couple hours after i fed the tank and did a water change. Water was almost coming out the other end, lol. And i run my tank at the lowest level possible. I actually removed the adjustable water level thing that comes on these overflows. 2 pumps would be better obviously because you can run the different modes more properly. Also, if y ou only get one pump i recommend you install the pump on the opposite side of the overflow for better filtration. I could not since my tank is set up as a peninsula style tank and the overflow is up against the wall and i didnt want to clutter up the opposite viewing pane.

some updated pics from this weekend after a water change and overhaul.

I forgot about the awesome growth from Halides. Awesome tank thunda! I am def going to do 2 pumps, on each side. Unfortunately, my mom won't let me have the tank setup like yours- peninsula style. I will end up doing that when I finish school in about a year(given I move out by then).

now i'm debating between the DCS and the new NWB 110..let me know what you go with! we pretty much do have the same exact setup lol
