My $800 Black Clowns

those are black saddlebacks, A polymnus, but they are very often labled as "black percs". There are no black percula, but there are black ocellaris from Darwin, Australia, which typically go for about $80 a pair.

Are the ones in the display tank possibly A. latezonatus? That's what I thought of when I read $800 black clowns...

The ones in the display tank at O street aquarium are black A. ocellaris clowns. I don't know where this $800 business came from. A. latezonatus clowns wouldn't even cost that much.

Perhaps the $800 is what it would be worth for them to break the tank down to catch the fish

I was just there the other day. I only saw one black clown.

So this isn't a joke? They're actually offering the fish and anemone for $800? Sheesh. Someone will probably buy it I suppose.

never noticed them at 0 street until this thread. saw them this weekend. i usually have on fish blinders as i gaze at the coral.

I have heard that people have offered Ost over $1000 for the pair and was turned down.
Odd that they are for sale now??

I guess it's very rare to get pure blacks with NO orange anywhere on them.

I think it used to be rare, but over the past couple months i've been seeing alot on liveaquaria for sale for about 40 for a single one no pair's though...
