My 90g "green" tank

Just upgraded my 30g recently, so tank is like 2 months old now, maybe less. Wanted to make this tank as "green" as possible, using less eletricity and easy to maintain than any other tanks I had before. Only a single Vortech 40(for you, manny! lol) runs this tank and it's doing a great job so far.
Was going to get me an Elos or a custom made tank, but wanted to upgrade fast and didn't want to wait too much, so grabed me a 90g RR to keep things going. Oh well, will upgrade again in the future anyway! lol

Here's a picture, will update with more pictures as it grows more and more corals are added(looking pretty empty right now lol ).
Still a work in progress. :)

One of my favorites here so far...very well done!

Do you plan on using a background ?...black will really bring out the colors of those corals out and eliminate a lot of the algae growth from the sunlight.

Thanks much guys!

Nope, no background this time. I prefer the look of see trough tanks, kind makes the tank looking "cleaner" and more open, if you know what I mean. Can look it from the outside, too. There's a huge 18 Green Carpet anemone that can be appreciated only from outside and loves to be exposed to the sun
Never had any problems with algae caused by Sunlight, unless I had a high nutrient tank.

Thanks!
I'm using two 150w Phoenix HQI, plus 4x 39w t5's, 2x Fiji Purples and 2x Actinics.
May cut down the energy even more and take the t5's out, but they give the tank more pop.

Very Nice!!! Centerpiece is aHammer right?...Awesome!!!

What do you mean "Only one vortech..running tank? No sump and main pump?, or vortech is only source of additional flow?

cool tank,
explain what makes this tank green, as opposed to others.
thanks

You mean my other tanks?
Less energy used to achieve the same goals, sometimes better.
If you mean other tanks out there, most 90g tanks(and even smaller) I have seen uses much more energy than mine.

Thanks bro.

Return pump too. But the 400 gph of the return doesn't make any notable difference to the overall flow. I have it pointed to the surface in the back.

what are you using for return pump?

Had a Eheim 1262 in the begin. Too much turn over for this size tank and too much energy consumed. Bought a OR 2500 to replace it that uses half the wattage, and gives the right amount of flow.
