I just happened to get this coral last weekend... it was actually one large colony(about 10" X 8") so I broke it in half and now have 2 very nice pieces... it broke so cleanly.

Agreed, it's actually pretty common, but a great find none the less if you like it.

I didn't think it would be either, but google the Acanthastrea Echinata Purple bullseye and see it on Fragfarmers. Here's a close up photo too...

Yes... they are all of the same coral. The second photo is under the 12k reeflux and look way too blue.

That's pretty interested they have it listed as limited edition, but then again they have quite a number of things on there that are common listed that way. Oh well, it's all in the seller/buyer's perspective. Again, if you're happy with it, good find :thumbsup:

Thanks it's only a 20" deep tank. Actually the body is that purpley-blue, the shot was taken with the day bulbs on

Talk about coloring up.. This pic was taken shortly after I aquired it back in May of '06, virtually 2 years ago to date.

Even through the horrible phone camera pic you can see how white/beige the flesh was and the mouths were pink and blue
