my anemone just threw up?

Sorry, but some very poor assumptions in this thread.

Based on the fact it's been in the tank only a couple of days and the waste is white, I would say it's turning inside out and expelling it's insides. It could be in severe danger if not dead/dying already. Do you have pictures?

FYI, I've never seen a healthy anemone expel digested food as WHITE waste.

very poor assumtions in this post.

if it was dead, you would know it. it would have started to dissolve and would smell TERRIBLE!.

I have seen many healthy anemones expel white waste, it depends on the anemone and the food.

dont scare the kid.

anemone's are wierd. one minute, youll be about to throw it out, and the next, it will be huge and expanded.

dont pitch it until it starts to dissintigrate.

I'm not scaring the kid. I'm making some suggestions/assumptions based on the facts that are given. It could be fine, or it could be the worst case scenario. When you have a new anemone, it's spewing white material, to make a statement that implies it's expelling waste and "completely normal" is wrong in my opinion. More facts are needed, especially when working with a new inhabitant. I think we would all agree that when a brand new anemone is expelling white material there is a VERY high probability it's having issues, NOT that it's excreting priorly digested material. No offense, but if you don't immediately take other options into consideration, more research and reading should likely be done.

As stated, more information is needed (pictures are easiest, mobility, mouth conditions, tears/lesions, etc) to assist.

As for the white waste, I stand corrected. I have a number and feed a number of different materials. As stated, _I_ have yet to see any excreted white waste that is clearly digested material.

But, that's enough for me. I wish you luck stealthbimmer and hope for the best.

If you go back and read the posts, as soon as it was stated that this was a newly introduced BTA, other questions were asked.

It would be impossible for me to ask 20 or 30 questions everytime someone posts "my anemone has stuff coming out of it" or "my anemone shrunk".

The fact is, it is a requirement for their survival.

The only poor assumption is the ones you made:

"I would say it is turning itself inside out and expelling its insides." and "it could be in severe danger if not dead/dieing alread"

The OP did not mention anywhere that the anemone was turning itself inside out. There were absolutely no idication that this anemone was dead or dieing.

The responses were given based on the facts. The answers given were "completly" accurate based on the information known at the time of the post.

i let it go through the night, and in the morning it was hidden in the back of my tank under my filter pickup. It seems to look fine now. It is a condy anemone. I had fed it krill earlier yesterday. Could that have bothered it and caused it to expel? As of now its looking back to normal. Thank you for the help everyone

I had a similar experience with a condy when my tank was just up and running about 3 months. I was about 2 seconds from throwing it out, because of how bad it looked when my buddy told me not to until it started disintigrating and smelling. That is the ONLY time to throw it out. They can act quite odd as they are doing their regular thing. If he moved himself to the back of the tank - let him be until he starts doing the aforementioned smelling/disintegrating....
