My anemone split!

Happy new year everyone!

Just thought I'd post, that my green BTA finally split! I was so happy when I saw it! It was getting really H-U-G-E ! I'll take pix as soon as Im done at my mom's place today. I'm gonna feed it and then take it to my LFS for some credit soon! Yeahhhhhh money for corals/ or moon light/ or some other sool stuff!

@jcarnahan12: I've had it for about 7 months. As I said, it really started getting huge! I was hoping that it would start splitting soon.
Unfortunately I only got home now, my "baby" already went to bed (bottom right). Its mommy ist still up and showing her size. I'm gonna take the mommy to the store and keep the small one. Or would you guys recommend it the other way around. I would like to keep the small one, because my clowns (Nemo and Nori) are hosting it.

I always wondered why people were so crazy about the rose BTAs. Green is where it's at IMO.
Have you considered selling/trading it with someone locally? The LFS won't give you as much as you would get the other way around and it's chances of finding a proper home are probably better that way. I got my RBTA off of a local reefer after it split from it's parent.
Anyway, very nice looking anemones, congrats.

I have both green and rose. My green just split even though I've been hoping my rose would. My rose has got to be 16" when fully open. But to answer your question, here's why people love roses...look at the color on this thing!

The lighting in this next picture is a little bright, but you can see how big it gets when it opens up.

smcnally: I wish we'd live in the same city! How I would love to trade for a rose BTA!
I tried to take it out today, but couldn't. It's sitting on the roof of it's cave! I don't wanna hurt it. I thing I'll turn a pump towards it and see if it starts wandering?
I guess my only option will be the LFS, Reefing isn't that wide spread at all here in Vienna, Austria. Pity actually! Or maybe it'll have to stay in the tank and I will get 4 ? (ILikeFish)

Tis the season. My Rose anemone split today! I psyced! They were seperated by about 6 inches today, but tonight they seem to be together. If I hadn't seen them split earlier today, I wouldn't have known they split by what I saw tonight. Is tere anything that needs to be done since they split?

I started feeding both of them straight away. Other than that not much to do I guess, just make sure that they don't have any stress.

My Rose is as huge as your tho. It's been with me for almost 2 years now... I feed it every other day... and .... it doesn't want to split...
