My anemone went under my rocks.

So I just got a Rose Bubble Tip anemone. It looked real heathy in the store. My water parameters are perfect. I have thriving sps system with good lighting and flow. So I put this anemone in the tank and sit it down up front in the tank next to my rock structure. And it went under neath the rocks. So it has a been a copule days an the anemone hasnt come out. Not even when my lights are on. Is this common? Should I go looking for it?

Anemone does not like strong flow.

give it time, it might be slightly injured, or just not sure where it want to be. It will most likely come out on it's own in due time.

I have had them play peek-a-boo before. It will come out when it gets hungry and/or acclimated. Hopefully it wont decide to drift all over the tank stinging every coral you have.

That must be why I have three huge RBTA's parked in front of 2 Koralias for over 2 years now.

To the OP: Don't sweat it. He will come out when he's ready. He may need to acclimate to your light (most likely) or your flow, or your water, but he will eventually come out, probably not in a spot you want him to. Anemones are a lot hardier than some folks around here give them credit for. If you go tearing apart your aquascaping looking for him, you stand a chance of damaging him if he's straddling two rocks.

+1 esp bubbles they seem to be almost bullet proof in normal tanks.. I also had a nem in higher flow.. imo rock dwelling nems care more about the rock their foot is on then anything else.. if they have bottom part totally protected in a rock you will find they accept more harsh enviroments
