My anemones HATE my light, any suggestions?

Bought a RBTA and GBTA about 3 weeks ago.
Both of them seem to hate my 10K 175w MH (just one).
They're not directly under MH, both of them are off to the sides,
each is about 10-12 inches from MH.

Is this normal, it's a daily thing.

Are they staying deflated all day with the lights on?
What size is your tank? you don't mention it.

Tank is a 55 gallon + 30 gallon as sump + 15 gallon plumbed with the 55 and 30 so total water volume is about 70-80 gallons

150lbs of live rock.
Euro-reef CS5-2 - Skim 24/7

Live stock:
yellow tang
blue hippo
kole (yellow eye) tang
green mandarin
pair of soloman island Percula
pair of regular nemo clowns

Corals:
2 small patches of green star poly
3 heads of Torch that's slowly withering away
2 small patches of zoos
1 large RBTA
1 medium GBTA

Water parameters:
ammonia: 0
nitrite: 0
nitrate: 10
salinity: 1.024
calcium: 380
PH: 8.4 (it's a bit high because I dose Kalk - homemade Ms. Wages)
Tank has been setup for about 2 years
15 gallon water changes every month
Lighting is with a single 175w 10K Hamilton MH bulb (10 hrs./day)

Changes I'm thinking of making:
1. Stop dosing Kalk
2. Add Iodine and trace elements

Wait and see what happens.

did you acclimate them to your lighting?? what light9ing did they come from?? also, they look a little hungry.. notice the short stubby tentacles.. i would feed them..they both look on there way to bleaching or were there before..feed them mysis, krill, silversides, scallops, shrimp, clam squid.. and maybe decreasing the light period until they are used to it.. 10 hrs. a day of MH is a little much, most run it for 6 to 8 hrs a day..

You don't need to stop adding kalk. your ph value, is that a reading when the lights are on or off?kalk should be added when the lights are off(raises ph) also adding iodine is a good thing, helps redox and acts as an anti-septic,can help with corals and invertebrates with lighting issues.Anemones if the lighting is to much will usually crawl up under a rock and hang upside down until they are ready for the full light of the tank. Are you feeding the nems? silversides work really well.also forget the other trace elements proper water changes done often, atleast twice a month
and you won't have to buy the snake oils. Please make sure whatever you are adding that you can measure it. FWIW.

I would say that your RBTA is doing just fine. It is supposed to have bubbled tentacles like that. The GBTA doesn't look great in that pic, but it could be anything.
They do both look a little pale. Good feeding 3-4 times a week should get them colored up in a couple months as long as nothing else is wrong.

i agree, first one looks good. and as long as the second one isent ALWAYS like that, it should be ok. (they look like that esp. when pooping)

on a side note, my BTA is always fully extended and absolutly amazing at night, during the day its about 1/3 that size and has all its bubble tips.
