I will post more pictures once I start building it. Let me know what you think!

I'm considering just ripping off the styling of the ADA stands for the exterior. I just love the clean looks. Any suggestions?

Pretty sure you could park a car on it with no problem. Overkill as far as strength goes. I do like the look though.

Yes Orion, that's the idea. I am not willing to take any risks regarding the strenght of the stand. It would be pretty frustrating having to tear down the whole setup just because two months into the project you notice the stand sagging.

Guys, any ideas on what kind of concealed cabinet hinges I could use to set up the doors as shown above?

Thanks!

"European hinges" Just about ever one carrys them now. The box stores, small hardware stores, cabinet supply, wood working stores, hardwood dealers... etc

I'd be shocked if any of the above did not have them.

Hello Tab. I am concerned about the thickness of the pillars. Not sure if I can install full overlay doors using european hinges.

yeah that might be a issue,

a invisiable hinge like this http://www.woodcraft.com/Product/2001079/361/Hinge-Invisible-12-x-134.aspx ( 1st link I found) might be a option, but I don't care for them.

There are also face mount hings that are simlar to european hinges that would work, but they can be a little harder to find and don't get the door "close"( about a 1/4") to the frame.

A box hinge is also another solution, but you will be able to see it from the side. You won't be able to see it from the front.

If you are not set on having doors that swing out, there are many other options.

There are littertly thousands of hinges out there, its just a matter of finding the right one. A cabinet shop supply house or a higher end wood working store should have/can get something that would work for you.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. So far, this is what I've found. Unfortunately, I don't know how they're called and so far I've only seen them in a UK site.

yep euro hinges (didn't know they were called euro hinges)

The carry 3 models here:
- none overlapping
- Half overlapping
- Full overlapping

used them for my stand. Asked my LHS to drill the holes they have a special machine that does the 3 holes in 1 go (and the placement is spot on obviously)

ps: my stand is very clean / stealth like ( no handles or anything)

Hello Zomar,

Could you post pics of the hinges on your stand? I would love to see how you worked it out.

Thanks!

this wooden stand is awesome especially with invisible hinges.
