My Banana Eel.

I been working hard in creating a eel tank for over 6 months now.

For many months I been researching and looking up eels.
I decided on a Banana Eel. When i saw the one on Diver Den, I was all over it.

This is the thread for him, I hope you enjoy it.

Hey what part of Florida are you in? I'm in Leesburg about 30 min north of Orlando.I have a Banana also she is pushing 3 feet, and super fat. This is my 3rd one in the past 5 years or so. Lost one to copper and hypo bad idea never do that together. other one I got would never eat and starved to death. My favorite fish by far. They have gotten so pricey though.Tried to view the cam but can't get a picture to come up just a greay screen.

Cool, got it to work, had to turn off my anti virus. He wasn't out and about though. Mine stays pretty much in the same place all the time except when it comes to feeding time.

I am on the east coast, 34652 area.
He pops in different areas now, some places can not be seen from my camera angle.

He's gonna bite you one day... That's all I can think of when i watch that video. Great looking eel though.

Some been asking what is my equipment list, here is a video of it.

Profilux controller, with PH, and optical level control.
Super Reef Octopus XP2000I 8" Cone Skimmer.
Bubble Blaster HY-2000s Skimmer Pump.
Iwaki MD-40RXT (Japanese Motor)1344 GPH.
Mazarra-S LED System.
1/5 HP Arctic Chiller.
Aqua 25 watt UV.
CO2 Scrubber.

Its so hard to judge the touch, its like touching liquid soap.

Sometimes, he lets me pet him for a longest time, my arm gets chilled when the temp is at 76 when you do it for 10 minutes.

This Eel will be good in a 150 gallon.
He gets up to 24 inches.

My concern is the little fishes if you have any, he might like for dinner.
Also you need to have places for him to hide completely and the aquarium needs to be covered 100% tight.

I have caught him looking at the overflows. I am thinking they are very curios animals and want to explore everything.

This Eel I have hasn't paid any attention to my fish at all, not yet.
I do feed him often and small pieces of food.

Another video showing how close I am to him, and he is not even bother at all.

Video.

That is so cool! I'm really jealous! Is there much of a difference between a banana and a dwarf golden moray?

Also, what do you use to cover your tank?

Thanks!
