My big maroon is more of a dog.

She eats from my hand, and puts her mouth on the turkey baster when I put frozen food in. It's delightful. She lets me pet her. She also does math tricks like those horses in the carnival.

You perc keepers out there should feel silly.

Do you other maroon keepers have smart animals?

I have a very large Maroon gold bar as well. My female is a good 6" and the male significantly smaller. She puts her head out of the water like a dolphin when you come near the tank. She also likes to be touched and takes food directly from your hand. They are a great fish. Mine are in a tank with a Large copperbanded butterfly, snowflake eel, purple tang and 10 clams, zoos and sps. Occasionally she will "rearrange" the frags we put in

Mine is a perfect 5" sweetie. She rubs against my hand when I'm feeding her. Her hubbie is much more introverted.

*lmao*

I have a soon to be mated pair of gold maroons
(lil juvi was just added last week, hes already in the bta 24/7)

my female also practically hangs on the tip of my turkey baster! I havent tried the hhand feed thing, messes up my skimmer bad when i put my hands in the water

But she really cracks me up. she always moves frags away from her spot.. things i imagine weigh 5 times more than her i find on the other side of the tank!! She swims away from the anemone when she poops.. only time she ever leaves, and pulls out the btas poop before its even all the way out of its mouth.
she always gives the bta the biggest piece of food that hits the tank first, then feeds herself
shes constantly cleaning too.

boy does ahe hate hermit crabs near her pad. she pushes them clear to the other side.

maroons ROCK.

she only beat her boyfriend up for about 24 hours before she shared her home

they are pretty close now
