I got a nice frag of a blue Cali tort jan/feb of 2011. It has always been one of my favorite pieces and also the fastest growing in my tank (ten gallon). I currently run with 4x24w t5ho using ATI bulbs, 2x blue plus, a aquablue special, and a purple plus. Filtration is currently done with 2 aquaclear HOB filters, ac30 for CPE and purigen, and a ac70 full of cheato. I use randys two part recipie daily. I don't have a skimmer, so I also do a 20-30% water change weekly.

I have to say, of l my Sps, this one has never lost its nice blue color, even durin a Alk issue that I didn't catch, and browned and stn all my other corals. I've also taken several frags off this main piece, but always bounces back fast. The only issue I have with it was caused by the last emerald crab I had, he took to staying on it and caused a dead spot on the back side.

Seems like you have a very hardy specimen; must be fully aquacultured several generations down.
