My brain doesn't look so good

I purchased a brain coral about 3 months ago, and until the last week or so, it has done really well. It puffs up and looks happy during the day. At night, it puts out little feeder tentacles. I have been direct feeding it mysis shrimp approx 2-3 times per week.

I noticed a couple of days ago that a spot on the side appears to be showing a small area of skeleton. It looks worse tonight. If it were starving, wouldn't it be showing skeleton uniformly instead in one small area? Could something be picking at it? I have quite a few hermit crabs and an emerald crab. I also have a couple sexy shrimp that like to hang out around it.

The brain that had problems in our tank started to show his skeleton on one start..to slowly shrink and look more and more worst...
we slowly raise it higher in the tank and started to feed more (not just mysis but also cyclo-eeze (freeze)) and it started to get better.. slowly... 6 months later I still see a little skeleton but it's doing good...
