My breeding pair eating eggs

I have a breeding pair of perculas that are eating there eggs why are they doing ?it's making my wife and kids through a fit because kids said there bad parents lol

Is it their first clutch? Sometimes that happens for first timers. Usually they are just shooting water at them or nudging them.

Yes this will happen on the first couple clutches. Are the clowns getting scared somehow because if they do they will eat the eggs.

they will also eat the eggs if they don't have enough protein in their diet.

Perfectly normal. The male will also clean up any unviable eggs as the eggs mature.
