Came home from work today and my bubble tip was caught in the water return for my sump. Upon inspection i noticed a tear in him. Although small I have herd a torn foot is almost a certain death sentence. Cant stand the thought of losing him........is there anything I can do to help him?

Don't worry, just keep doing what you normally would. BTAs are especially good at recovering from trauma.

Good luck!

I accidentally tore a BTA in half while I was removing a rock from tank. I didn't realize it was attached to two rocks. I ended up with 2 BTAs after that. So in my experience they are pretty hardy anemones.

My BTA has been beat up the last couple days. Not intentionally of course, but it's went through a lot compared to normal. I bought a new fish and lost it right away to I'm guessing disease. Whatever it was, another fish that I've had for 10 months caught it and parished in a week. I couldn't leave 2 dead fish in the tank to pollute it so I tore everything apart.

My BTA's foot is attached to at least 2 large rocks on the bottom. It is in between them. I've had it for over a year and it's stayed in the same spot and grown. It looks great every day.

Well, I had to lift up these rocks to look around and I'm afraid I could have torn it. I don't know for sure now. I'm also afraid I may have pinned part of it and it can't move. It's good sized and I have no way of telling if a portion is smashed against the crushed coral bottom or not.

On top of this, A LOT of detritus was stired up from under these rocks, and a small rock fell down on some tentacles of it and I think they may have gotten damaged a bit. It seems to be expanding a little more today but it still seems to be slumping on the bottom a lot and the mouth is open. It's worse than I've seen it but the color's still great. My maroon clown still hosts in it and tends to it.

On a positive note, after losing a lot of water, doing a water change, and a nice skimmer flood this morning, my water should be very clean right now. It's on the bottom of a 38 gallon under 4 39w T-5 bulbs in a Tek fixture. Do you guys think it will be ok? I'm not going to mess around in the tank at all for a while. I fed the tank some DTs phyto and oyster eggs today.
