Cool, mine looks like the ones in the bottom right. I've also seen some that have a blue center instead of green. How many varieties are there?

I am a certified candy cane nut. There is a post in the selling forum that is probably over two months old now that has some very different morphs, including a lavender and even a mint colored candy. I would kill for them.

The blue one is just awesome! The guy that gave you that must be a fantastic person!!!!
O.K. mabey not.Did the rest of the frags do O.K.? .....Christopher

While I have your attention. The blue ones are growing pretty fast.If I don't frag them they start to drop tissue.I assume to reporduce away from the "crowd" Is there any way to stop this?I want a large colony without the droopy look.

Yes they are all doing great.

As for the dropping, not sure if you can do much, other that trimming a few out.

If you want some more let me know.I am going to pick up some Aquamend and try mounting them differant.

I have few blues ones.. they are pretty neat. I always wondered why they were called candy cans and are two tone blue .. haha
I didn't know they came in other colors.
I accidently broke them once about a year ago snapped 3 heads off and now I have two.. lol... they have been doing well in my tank. The base is really really long though can you chip part of the rock structure off the base like under the flesh or will that disturb it.. I would like to chop and inch or so off... it coes down to a point and make it rally hard to display becuase it doesn't lay flat.. maybe I should trade the small 3 headed peice for anouther color.

Donald ,Thats why I am trying to use some putty.I want to change the way they display/grow out.

Jeremy you will not owe me anything for the frag. However I just picked up 90lbs of portland cement.Do you know anyone who has some extra aragonite lying around.I think we could make a billion plugs/disks with this cement.

Oh and I want to drop off a frag of the Purple Acro to see if it will color up in your prop tank.It is starting to go back to purple, mostly in the new growth though.

i have the green and the blue....blue tend to not drop off tissue if you put them in higher flow and i have learned that green excel when you have them in surge current and feed them...they are gluttons.

I want the striped ones but cant find them locally...

nice pieces, good work.

I had some white ones for a couple of years. I started with 5-6 heads and it would grow to 50-60 in about 9 months, it was the fastes growing coral that I had ever seen, and it could pack away the food....after fragging it down and growing it back out a couple of times, I sold the coloy of some 100+ heads off when I went to upgrad and keep SPS..

I still have a candy cane that only spent $1 on. I got it as a single head of what the LPS owner and I though was a single head of blasto merletti that looked about to die. all you could see was skeleton and a bit of green in the center...about a year later it's the best $1 I've ever spent on my tank...the green in the centers puts every green in my tank except my green slimer to shame..
