my clam has fallen and he cant get up

well i recently got my first clam and set him on a rock like the lfs suggested. when i came home tonight, he'd fallen an inch or so, and was on his side. i wanted to move him back onto the rock, or onto the sand where he couldnt fall again. however, he's got his little foot attached to the side of the rock. he not letting go and is hanging there by this foot. will he let go? should i force him to let go? i cant move him.

what should i do?

dont force him off. u can take a razer and cut the threads away from the ROCK not next to the clam. cut as far away from the clam as u can!! then put a small rock about an inch under ur sand and put the clam on that and when it grabs the rock then move it where u want
