My clown would draw blood too. Had to use turkey baster in one hand to chase her away while reaching in with the other hand to do whatever I needed to do.

Lol, I have to use a fish net to work in the tank...it's the only thing my clown is afraid of.

beleive this or not....but my clown has done this to my cats. I opened up the cube to feed it, my cats would put their nose right on the water. Well, the clown went up and bit them on the nose. This happened twice on each cat.

Now they are scared to death of that aquarium. But love my new 65

Are they hosting in something? They may be just protecting it. Or they may just be "clowning" around.

haha  had a feeling that someone would say this

i had a clarkii that protected its anemone and would draw blood once in a while...and all i was trying to do was feed my snowflake

I used to have a perc that would nibble my fingers when I fed it, I guess it's not too uncommon.

In among other things my LFS used to have a Sapo Puffer I think it was that bit. Matter of fact if I remember correctly they got it for free fully grown from a Rainforest cafe in the mall because it used to eat the plastic plants in the tank. Long story short this thing would follow you if you came into the shop while trying to bite the glass, god knows what woulda happened if you put your hand in, most likely it woulda taken your finger off.

LOL, Drix I could see it now an advertisement for the worlds first guard fish. Build a moat around your home and let this guy loose. Better than the biggest dog you can find, Just don't fall in the water by accident.

I don't have a anemone and it doesn't matter what end of the tank I'm fooling around in. When you swat at him..You can tell he gets more aggitated. It really get me when Trying to glue down a frag or something and he catches you unexpected.

My female maroon clown will definitely come after my hand if I get too close to "her" Xenia. Also, if I put anything near the area, she'll move it. She's moved mushrooms attached to small rocks, a candy cane coral, zoos attached to rocks, pretty much anything that she doesn't approve of.
She's never drawn blood, but it does kinda surprise me when she nips me!!!

I have a large female false perc, that willl bite the crap out of me anytime I get near their nem. I have actually flickked her in the nose when she got close, but that only made her mad. It doesn't hurt 9 out of 10 times, but she has brought a little blood on occasion.
