My clown wants my attention?

My female clown fish of 3 years occasionally makes popping noises with her mouth. She repeatedly opens and closes her mouth and it makes a popping sound that I can actually hear. She's not fighting the male, and the male is not even close to her. Their not sick, absolutely nothing has changed. She does this for about 10 seconds and stops. She doesn't repeat it. I just notice it maybe once a week. Very interested in knowing what she wants.

They've been together ever since I bought them together as little ones. She just started this about a month ago.

Does this happen around feeding time? Trying to get your attention?

I had a Domino Damsel that "growled" all the time, not surprised that a clown would do the same.

If I remember correctly clowns make noise with their mouth to communicate. I think it's like a click or grunt. I would have to rewatch the latest blueplanet 2 when they talk about the clownfish communicating though..

Good episode, The dominate female clicks to the others, Seemed like OK sounds and Danger sounds. When a loud motorboat passed overhead they all hunkered down because they couldn't hear the calls.
