I have a pair of ocellaris clowns that laid eggs Saturday evening. They haven't laid in almost two years. I would like to try and save some of the fry. Does anyone have any rotifers that are ready in case I can save some of the fry. Also, has anyone raised ocellaris fry before? Any tips would be helpful.

AWESOME! I have not yet raised any myself , but I do have a great book on the subject written by Joyce D wilkerson , you are more than welcom eto it. It apparently is the foremost book on the subject .... Let me know ...

That's a job within itself. I have kept them for 4-6 days and then they all died. If you get the book from Eric it will tell you all you need. I do have cultures but they are in a tube. I hear that UA is going to start to keep Nano and Rotifers, check with him. I think that you might be too late for this hatch, you will have to wait for the next. 7-10 days from now. In all a lot of work. Great if you can do it. Keep us posted.

Update: All eggs are gone. Thanks for the book Erick, it has some great info. I'll be more prepared for their next clutch. Thanks for the advice Ade.

Clowns are laying eggs again today. 10 days since their last clutch. If anyone is going to richmond and wouldn't mind stopping by Marvin's, he has some cultures he is giving me. Thanks Marvin. Let me know if anyone is going that way.

Thanks, Michele

I was by Marvins the other day, he has the same as what I have. Culture in a tube you are welcome to it if you want them. Just let me know, you will need some nanochloropsis or similar to feed the Rotifers. Like I said not to put you off but it's a full time job.

oh, I must have missed that part in your post, and yes I would really appreciate some if you have them. Just give me a few days to get some research done and make sure I'm doing everything right. It seems as though they are going to start laying regularly now. Hopefully anyway. They laid what looked like several hundred today. I'd post some pics, but I'm not sure how. I'm looking forward to trying to raise a clutch even though it will be very time consuming. Wes or I, one or the other, are always here. Thanks for the feedback Ade. Its always helpful to know what I'm getting myself into

Thanks, Michele
