My Clownfish Eggs

Keeping fingers crossed.
My clownfish eggs are about to hatch.
I believe they are Black Ocellaris Clown Fish (Amphiprion ocellaris). Black and White with orange noses.
Can see the eyes tonight.
Check list:

• 10gal tank
• sides papered to keep light out
• air pump and control valve
• heater and thermometer
• rotifer culture
• phytoplankton culture
• top covered with paper towel to keep daylight shut to a medium
• flash light
• turkey baster
• brine shrimp eggs and hatchery

Good luck! Keep us posted. I'll be about 4-6 days behind you for my first attempt. . What phyto u using? U have air stone to go under your heater? I've read that's to keep the fry from resting and roasting on the heater..

How are you planning to collect the fry? I'm guessing that's what the flashlight is for, but what are you using to physically capture and transport them? They in your display?

Sorry.... been a bad week with my lower back again.
Lost the clutch. Apparently they hatched before we returned from bowling last week and did so with the lights on. Was all pumped up.... hope to be more prepared next time.

I'm guessing the parents at the clutch. The eggs may have come down with something and the male cleaned them up. I say this because the eggs typically in total darkness. I've been through at least a dozen clutches now and none have hatched during the day.

Wow. I just re-read what I wrote. That's what I get for typing on an iPad....

I meant the parents ate the clutch, and that the eggs typically hatch in total darkness.

It may have made sense but I just wanted to clarify.

My clowns have a new clutch every 10 days, so if you keep conditions comfortable for your pair, I'm sure you will have a chance to raise many more clutches.

Well these guys are starting to work like clockwork. Newly laid clutch last night again. Day 1 starts today. ☺☺

Try saturation feeding of the pair. they might leave the eggs alone.
