Might be the death of the clam before there is a chance of the clam clamping down on them. Clams do not take kindly to irritants. I'd keep a close eye on it.
I read somewhere of a clown losing to a clam. The clam slammed shut trapping the poor small clown and then later it promptly spit the fish back out....no harm no foul
my clowns do the same thing.they go in the clam my rpe's frogspawn xenia leather it doesn't matter if they want to lay down and it's there they are in it
My female perc wouldn't let the male sleep in her rbta at first. She banned him to the clam. My wife thinks its so funny that she sent him to sleep w/ another "clam". He never did any harm to it.
I love the color contrast!! If you want, try to cover the clam with a clear top from a 2 L bottle with holes for water circulation, that may persuade them to move on
I had a pair of ocellaris that hosted a Deresa for several months. The clam never closed on them even though they snuggled in the mouth, and it didn't seem to mind or decline.
Clowns can pick some strange things to call home. They were in love with a powerhead for a few weeks too.
