my clowns host, finally

hey there. had my percula clowns for almost 2 years now and they never joined neither my frogspawn nor my mini rbta which is 2inches wide.

i now went for a 4 week vacation diving in bali coming home to a neglected reef tank almost rid of any sps life and the aiptasia torrent is still on the run, BUT to my surprise the two clowns cuddle in an anemone that does not even fit them both. i just love the sight of them lying in there without a move for seconds and then they move a little to find a better position for relaxing

will take photos in the next days but difficult as its in the back of the tank. my next investment will be a bigger BTA!

Congratulations!

I remember having a tough time getting my perculas to host its anemone. What I did was "herd" them into the anemone, slowly getting them to associate my hand with retreating to the anemone, which I purposely place on one of the tank. Slowly over time, the clowns started to slowly come in contact with the anemone then eventually they are buried in it. Took me about 2 days of herding every few hours.

I know it's bad for the tank to have your arms in the tank for that long but it's worth it
