I recently acquired this beautiful 4 polyp colony. Upon receiving the coral I noticed that this polyp was receding---4 weeks later it has come to this.
I cant get a better shoot but me thinks that I have some kind of coral boring worm?
I have some "LUGOL'S solution should I mix up a dip.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I still cant see exactly what your talking about. But I do know lugols isnt made to repel pests. Freshwater dips do that.Lugols is used primarily to aid against bacterial infections, and disinfect any open woulds or scratches etc a coral may have incurred. Sorry I cant be more helpfull.

Thanks for your input, sorry on the lake of info and pic quality--not much to go on. I will continue with close observation--I am still not totally convinced that this tissue recession was not caused in transit and what I am seeing is a polyp on the rebound.
I would rather give a few more days before I make a move.
Any other suggestions are greatly appreciated.
