My DIY aquarium desk

Very nice work! I always enjoy out of the box ideas! How are you getting the moisture out of the tank and sump compartments?

That's such a nice desk. They say that you should your tank where you a lot of the time be able to enjoy it! Well now you will certainly want to work at you computer more if you already don't!

Well the fact that I live in New Mexico take a lot of the moisture out. Its dry as a bone in there. But I also built in a 120mm exhaust fan if I need it.

Very Cool, why the heater in the tank and not the sump area though?

+1 for glass top though that would be a huge engineering task to make it have a good view (Ideally submerged glass, which would be tough to do etc). I enjoyed your comment about the clowns- I have a pair and thought similarly until I watched them for a bit, they are a hoot.

That was why I didn't do a glass top. I didn't think it would look good without a submerged pane, and I didn't care that much.

I bought more heater than I needed, and it won't fit. And none of the chambers are large enough for a 12" heater anyway. So it went into the DT. I might change switch that up later.

where in NM.

Albuquerque

I agree on the glass top, large PITA. Heater wise the Finnex Titanium tubes are shorter than traditional glass heaters, if you're looking for one.

FOWLR?

How cool is that! I did a similar but opposite desk from my tank. I put the tank on top and made it so a desk pulled out just under the tank. I still need to finish the frame around it to finish my office.

Thanks for the tip. I'll check that out.

Yes, it will be a FOWLR. I might do coral later on when I have a little more experience.
