yeah, I use black static stickers. It's a very flexible black plastic sheet. same thing for the skimmer. Otherwise you will get wicked coraline growth in there. That's probably not such a big deal like green algae, but it bugs some people a lot.

I buy this product in WalMart for $ 4.17 dollar each, in the automobile department .

Very nice DIY stuff!!!

The only thing I should mention is that I've had problems with having a refugium in my sump with a light, because the light allowed coralline, pocillapora, algae, etc grow in my skimmer and anything else that light can penetrate (in my case it was skimmer and plumbing too :( )

So i don't know the impact of algae in the skimmer on skimmer efficiency, but I just thought I would throw it out there.

Nice Reactor condoms Julio. Those are actually pretty cool!

Agreed, it's good to see someone practicing safe RO. :D

BTW, I love the PowerBrites. Bought them for both my tanks, give me incredible glitter lines with actinics on. I mounted them in a similar manner on the inside of my canopy so they shoot down diagonally from the front. I'm gonna put them on a separate timer so they're on by themselves for an hour or so twice a day. Gives you that reef cave look.

Great ideas, Julio, keep'em comin'.

I was able to see Julio's Set up Today,

I must say....you can only appriciate this in person...Julio has done his research...you can tell that it took time to put this much detail into his set up...from Rockwork/ Equipment/ DIY side projects/ fish selection etc. He's off to a great start. I'll share some pics later on.

Excellent Job>>keep it up Julio!!!
