My dream custom build

Love Puerto Rico and looks like a great build so far! The two islands is s great aquascape. What type of coral do you plan on keeping ?

Well im planning a mix reef but with a concentration in sps ,and a rare colors lps.If you have any tips in the sps territory that can you share ? Garretm

No the worry about the stand it has a full 2x4 frame with reinforcements in the center or each vertical run( up and bottom parts),the only and good issue is that you can see it if only you look the stand of front. The guy that built it even test it to see the Psi the frame can handle before skin it with the composite wood he use.The stand cost me $425.It better handle the weight for eternity or i will kill him.:uzi:

BTW sixpack im following your built blog and your aquascape is unique and beautiful ,I never see anything like that ,it almost a coral selling island, like the LFS in Puerto Rico.

It been a long journey i already put about 10 fishes in there ,and a few corals , i was trying sps ,a frew stiloporas, birnest, acroporas. And of course lps,and a few zoas ,i was trying triton method but it seem the have a huge impact in my nitrates so i stop triton and right now im using 2 parts dosing, but i realize 3 things in this road.
1.the all sps(acropora)thing is not my like so i will focus the tank in a mixed reef with emphatize in the sps with larger polyps and simple and more stronger, like stiloporas ,and the zoas bug bit me i think jajaja
2.my light t5 6 tube with a reefbrite led bar,can i change it to a more energy/ cost efficient led light . i like the kessil ap 700 but its worth it and i have to wait about a year to collect the money for the light.
3.In Puerto Rico the financial situation is not good why try to impress someone with high price name corals when the goal of this hobby is to enjoy it and have a nice tank to admire when i come home from work to relax.

So i hope to have your comments about this 3 things i learned,i will post pictures to the end of the week to let you know how its going on with the tank.

How do you like the rw8's? Are they doing a good job moving the water in that tank? I like your build looks very clean. Impressive!

I really like the rw8's they have plenty of power so right now im only using them in W1 mode in the 7 speed.they are trend to loose power when they are dirty,so you have to clean it monthly.

great build so far. 2 RW-8's might be a bit much considering the fact you also have dual returns. Cant wait tos ee hwat this tank will look like when it has had enough growth!

Nice tank Juan, Up in this neck of the woods coral frags are sold on plugs that you try to wedge in live rock. Consider drilling a lot of 1" diameter holes in that rocks where your future coral plugs can fit into. Keep the pictures coming.
