my dream, my wifes nightmare 500 gallons

I like to think that many of you are joking about the "controversy" with your partner whenever you expand your hobby or purchase something new for the tank. Perhaps I am extremely fortunate that my wife, although she does not have the same appreciation for the hobby that I do, is totally supportive, as I am with her interests. Now, I am not spending the mortgage or utility payment in the purchase of a fish or coral, and I hope none of you are making that mistake. But the cost of an expensive hobby like this has a significant impact on other discretionary purchases we might make. Our feeling is that we only live once and we should support each other in the things that make us happy. Simple, but very important.

By the way, I will not post a picture of her or let you know how to get in touch with her. I plan to keep her for as long as both of us have on this planet.

Can you give us some more info on how youââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢re getting the flow in that tank? I think I see 8 total outlets? CL? Return? Combo of both? Iââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢m sorry, I ask everyone a lot of questionsââ"šÂ¬Ã‚¦..Speak slowly, and donââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢t leave out any details. (Still talking about the flow)

sorry been busy with the tank.
There are 4 1 inch close loop returns that runs 4700 gallons per hour. A second close loop via spray bar that runs around the prefilter behind the rock( it turns on once a day for an our via timer. Then 4 returns that come out the top of the prefilter via refugium. I'm not sure if this is done correctly, just tried my best to read alot on the net and figure out what was Bull and what was correct as best as I could. I wanted a tank that had 4 view able sides, 4 different landscapes are possible this way. Is it practicle, only time will tell. We have 2 other living roooms in the house, this was one room that no one ever went into because there was no TV :D . It's amazing my kids spend more time looking at the tank than they do watching TV.

I guess I'm also lucky when it comes down to an understanding wife. She is just as addicted as me and even does the research on new additions prior to purchase.
Also getting ready for a 300 gal. The stand has been built and she wants to know why it's so small LOL lucky me I should have gone bigger.

the funny part about this whole thing is she asked why he didnt go in wall. i have 2 friends that went inwall after there wives wanted some remodling done to the house. he he he.
the one has the 1700g sting ray reef and the other guy is building a 17,000 fish tank with 22,000g total system volume. so your wife sould be happy its only a 500g tank and you didnt go inwall. ha ha ha ha

Well, if you're going to do it, do it large... at least you'll have something to keep you busy after she kicks you out! Just kidding - that tank is sweet!
