So, I am staring in disbelief at one of my emerald crabs as he is munching on a small carpet of cyano algae that has formed near his favorite rock lair...video to follow. (sorry about the poor quality white balance/color...it's shot on my iphone).

Impressive! Equally impressive is the fact you can see your emerald crab! I havent seen mine in 2 months. Im pretty sure he stays upside down in the inside of a rock on the back bottom of my tank and essentially filter feeds on junk. Hes lazy.

That is pretty awesome! I have an off topic question for you, though. How do you get your iPhone camera to zoom? I cannot zoom while taking video. Thanks!

been about 6/7 weeks since i have seen mine as well

Amazing. I wish my emerald crab would do that. He has taken to hanging out by the LPS and stealing the Mysis shrimp from the coral polyps.

Update on my emerald....I caught him munching on my colt coral. He ate half of it, so needless to say he is in timeout untill I get him back to my LFS!! If I get anymore bad algae I am going to rent one, and after he eats it he is GONE!!!!

I'm very new to this but I also saw my Emerald crab eating red algae today (Cyano I believe). I also thought that I'd need other cleaners to do so. I didn't have any red algae until suddenly it appeared the last couple days on the live rocks. Does anyone know any snails or hermits that are happy to help with the job?
