saltwaterfish.com orders
lol yea...dunno whats going on there...
maddhugan, has saltwaterfish.com been treating you well? any issues with them?
sALTWATERFISH.COM orders........my first order with them was a while ago, ordered some puffers and bluejaw triggerfish. The puffer had ich and bluethroat trigger came like it came from Somalia, it was way too skinny and wasn't even able to swim. It never recovered and died. There went $50. I don't blame them for Ich though. The buyer must quarantine the fish. I'm now convinced that all online sellers whip fish with ich off and on. I used to get angry when sellers shipped fish with ich, but not anymore because they can't do much about it. I do tank transfer method now, so no biggy about ich. I didn't order for a long time after that.
And then I recently ordered several Dartfish/gobies from them. Got it around 6 p.m. It's like you don't go to a restaurant for a long time if you get diarrhea from eating there, and then at some point you forget and start going there to eat again. I requested them to add more water in each shipping bag so that the fish could survive the shipping and they did add more water; but still the fish looked extremely tired . Only three of the fish out of the 13 died. One was DOA, and the other two died a day later.
I think the right thing to do is to pay for the priority shipping (delivered before 10:30 a.m. and you pay $5 extra, well worth it), so I did that and placed an order today. It will come this Tuesday and I will update you on that. 10 tanks are already set up for tank transfer method combined with PRAZIQUANTEL. Hope they don't come tired today.
For the dead fish they kind of issue 80% store credit, don't know why the 80% credit instead of 100%, but I'm ok with that because their price is somewhat cheap to begin with. The price is very reasonable here at saltwaterfish.com, I would give them 7/10 now. not bad.
but my favorite is Liveaquaria.com for sure, no doubt. Can be very expensive though.
Bluezooaquatics.com's collection is really nice but they ship fish with little to no water as if they are amphibians, and most fish die during the shipping itself. They can't even keep the fish alive for 16hrs during shipping. Even after multiple requests to add more water, they just kept shipping with very little water, and that did it. I haven't ordered from them for a long time now.
