My experience with KOMODOAQUARIUM.COM, Please rate these online sellers

i tried to buy from them months ago and they asked for $199 total.. then a week later added more.. then the site asked for $299 total.. not sure what is going on, but i already went somewhere else.

Wanted to get some fish and inverts from Komodo but the site is telling me "In order to offer the lowest prices a minimum item total of $399 is required. Please add more items to your cart!" I have about $150 worth in the cart...is this normal?

huh it seems like he didn't have a good plan

well, when I bought (a while ago) it was free shipping for $250 and now they want to charge for shipping even if you buy for $400.

I'm glad I bought from komodo when it was reasonable. I emailed them a number of times about the changes and no replies.

I will not be placing orders from them anymore. Either the guy got greedy or he didn't have a good business plan to begin with I guess

Well, the ppl just ignore emails there, and the website has become so unfriendly and it is impossible to place an order from their website.

So I revised my rating. I will give a 1 out of 10 for them. Yes, a definite 1/10.
will never buy from there

$400 min order and still they try to charge $20

Komodoaquarium.com sucks now. I just tried their website today just to see what they want to process an order and here is what they want.

They want you to buy $400 minimum, and then still they want to charge you $20 for shipping.

no thanks, I will stick with liveaquaria.com and saltwaterfish.com for now.

sALTWATERFISH.COM orders........my first order with them was a while ago, ordered some puffers and bluejaw triggerfish. The puffer had ich and bluethroat trigger came like it came from Somalia, it was way too skinny and wasn't even able to swim. It never recovered and died. There went $50. I don't blame them for Ich though. The buyer must quarantine the fish. I'm now convinced that all online sellers whip fish with ich off and on. I used to get angry when sellers shipped fish with ich, but not anymore because they can't do much about it. I do tank transfer method now, so no biggy about ich. I didn't order for a long time after that.

And then I recently ordered several Dartfish/gobies from them. Got it around 6 p.m. It's like you don't go to a restaurant for a long time if you get diarrhea from eating there, and then at some point you forget and start going there to eat again. I requested them to add more water in each shipping bag so that the fish could survive the shipping and they did add more water; but still the fish looked extremely tired . Only three of the fish out of the 13 died. One was DOA, and the other two died a day later.

I think the right thing to do is to pay for the priority shipping (delivered before 10:30 a.m. and you pay $5 extra, well worth it), so I did that and placed an order today. It will come this Tuesday and I will update you on that. 10 tanks are already set up for tank transfer method combined with PRAZIQUANTEL. Hope they don't come tired today.

For the dead fish they kind of issue 80% store credit, don't know why the 80% credit instead of 100%, but I'm ok with that because their price is somewhat cheap to begin with. The price is very reasonable here at saltwaterfish.com, I would give them 7/10 now. not bad.

but my favorite is Liveaquaria.com for sure, no doubt. Can be very expensive though.

Bluezooaquatics.com's collection is really nice but they ship fish with little to no water as if they are amphibians, and most fish die during the shipping itself. They can't even keep the fish alive for 16hrs during shipping. Even after multiple requests to add more water, they just kept shipping with very little water, and that did it. I haven't ordered from them for a long time now.

needing ? hmmmmmm

needing ? hmmmmmm

Do you really think that you need 10 separate tanks?

Needing is one thing and making things easy is another thing. I don't like to clean the tanks every other day because I have other things to do? If I set up all ten at one time then I can just keep moving the fish from one tank to another without cleaning any tank for 20 days right?

so why do I do tank transfer for 20 days rather than 12 days? peace of mind may be (just making sure the evil ich is gone for sure) Also the last 8 days I use praziquatel, and it is always good to move the fish to keep them away from ammonia?

One time I saw ich clinging to a fish's body for 13 days (more than 12 days which is considered the maximum number of days the ich can cling without falling from fish's body), so I just want to be on the safe side, and if I already set up all of the 10 tanks in one day then I know for sure I won't abandon the tank transfer in the middle because of laziness?
well, I don't need 10 tanks but I do prefer to have 10 atleast.
