My feather duster hasn't shown its crown! Is it dead?
It was fine for the past couple of months and now it hasn't come out for the past 3 days.

They have been known to pop their crowns, you didn't happen to see one floating around your tank did you? If that's the case it will grow it back.

I didn't see it's crown anywhere in the tank, the tube is still there attached in the rock.

Throwing the crown off means the animal is under stress. Most often due to lack of appropriate foods.

Mine threw off his crown and I almost didn't notice it behind a rock. But sure enough after 2 weeks he statred popping back out again. His crown is small now but he is very much alive.

I had my feather duster for about 3 months and then it decided to throw it's crown and. A week later it came out of it's tube and went for a little hike around the tank. He got lost while traveling around the sand bed. Couple days later there was no sign of him.
I believe he was murdered by the Big claw gang. :(

I saw him late last night ! I turned on the room lights and he only was out only a 1/2 inch but he is still there.
:D
For a time I thought maybe the peppermint duo had done him in.

I'm really surprised at how fast his crown has been growing the last couple of days. It's about half of his normal size already and it's only been about a week since he popped out to say hello with almost no crown.
