My first attempt at a sebae died...

.. was kind of excited about this one. My first attempt at a non-bubble anemone. Had it in the tank for awhile, it was eating, it had extended it's tentacles nicely, had picked a point to reside in (or so I thought). And then I woke up this morning and it was torn up by the mp40.

Is this because it wasn't actually happy? Is there something I could better have done to avoid it?

was the vortech covered with the sponge?

I have had BTAs that would have been destroyed but were saved only due to the fact that the vortech was covered with the sponge.

IME you have to take a lot of caution in the beginning with these anemones. They tend to dislodge a lot while acclimating. After truly settled in, they usually stay put and you don't have to worry about them. If you decide to try another, I would recommend ramping down or turning your MP40 off at night for the first couple weeks or so.

You know, I was just thinking that.

When I try this again, I can easily just turn off that MP40 for the night for a week or so. I don't think it would harm anything. That might be a good safety idea.
