My first clams

If the pinching is getting worst and if there is no cause for it taht you can see (something sting it, fish bite it ...) you can try FW dip as the last resort.
Good luck

If it does not improve in a day or two, I would FW dip it.

My observation of pinched mantle disease is that the clams will look semi OK in AM but show the problem worst as the day go on and look very sick by the end of the day. If you clam look beter at the end of the day, and if it is improving, then it unlikely to have this disease.
Goodluck.

Mihn,

Here is a picture of my crocea after a fresh water dip. It was dipped on Friday and this picture was taken Tuesday.

I'm not sure if it looks better, but it is not worse IMO. What do you think?

Thanks, Al

Minh,

Does it take several days for them to come back after a FW dip? It reacts to shadows very well. I will let you know if it goes one way or the other and take another picture.

Thanks for your help. My clam and I appreciate it very much.

It can take several days. The pinched mantle should resolve right away however. The retracted part of your clam mantle still retracted mor than other part indicated that the cause may not be due to "pinched mantle disease". According the Dick at Tropicorium, freshwater dip do take care of other problems also, so it may not be wasted.
good luck to you and your Crocea.
