i have a 135 gallon tank it 72x17.5x25. i would like to have these fish. if i can i might add an eel but i dont know what eel would be best.

Saddleback Butterflyfish (Chaetodon ephippium)
Powder Brown Tang (Acanthurus japonicus)
Humu Picasso Triggerfish (Rhinecanthus aculeatus)
Banana Wrasse (Thalassoma lutescens)
Pinkface Wrasse (Thalassoma quinquevittatum)

i will have arourd 150lbs of live rock.

Nice choice of fish, I would add the wrasses last and at the same time though.

A 40 long should work perfect under there, it gives you plenty of room for equipement with the 4 foot length. I used one under my 125. Just remember it has to go in before you put the tank on the stand, it won't fit through the front if you the standard 3 door stand.

I'd say go less rock. In a FOWLR swimming room is really important. Shoot for around 100, maybe less if you think it's too crowded.

The one fish I see on that list that might be of concern is the saddle back. They're some of the larger butterfly fish and are very peaceful. The more boisterois tank mates might not be the best match for it. Hopefully someone with more experience can make a comment on that.

If you really want an eel my choose would be a zebra or a snow flake like I said before or if your lucky I would hunt down a golden dwarf mine maxd out a 12 inches and it is 3 years old

Use one of those 20's as a dedicated refugium. As soon as I started using chaeto macro algae, my tank parameters became much better than when I was only running a skimmer.

I agree with this...Swimming space is very important to the fish list you have....And I very much like the fish list you have.

Just my 2 cents, I like Snowflake a lot more than Zebra for your tank. Snowflakes are not afraid to go after their food. Trust me on this, with a Sunset Wrasse and 2 Triggers, getting food to your eel will be a challenge, I would go with the more bold Snowflake, plus I think they are far better looking than Zebra, that's just an opinion though. I could lay a piece of shrimp on the top edge of my tank and my 20 inch SFE would come out of the water and grab it....Very cool.

ok i might get the snowflake since they will do better and they cost alot less.

what do you guys think about doing a 20 gallon long as my skimmer and return section, a 20 gallon high as my refuge, and a 20 gallon high for as much live rock as i can fit in it?

once they get bigger they will get to be more aggresive

i will decide on which eel in a few months when i start buying fish. does anyone know if that sump system will work?

I don't know man, seems like a lot of tanks to cram under there and a lot of plumbing. Were you planing on gravity feeding the fuge and rock tank into the 20 long or using 2 return pumps? I'm not really a fan of stuffing a tank full of live rock, you can't get good flow through it and detritus just builds up all over.

Keep it simple. Heres what I did under my 125, it a 40 long baffled off.
