My first GBTA! Worried :/

Got my first GBTA last night and under my 18 white 7600k 3 blue led fixture it didn't look very good. So I sat my 2x18 t5ho on top of the tank and this is what it looked like after 5 mins.

after switching back to my LEDs it looked deflated. When I went back an hour later it decided to deflate nearly completely and crawl all the way into the cave where the peppermint shrimp is in that pic. Should I be worried? :/

How did you aclimate it to the tank? They need to be aclimated slowly, but its a little late for me to tell you that. Actually it does not look bad. I tried and failed with a few gbta's until I was enlightened. Slow drip aclimation and then once you put it in the tank, leave it alone. It will move around until it is happy. Do not keep putting it where you want it because it will stress and die. Do not rush to feed it. Give it a week to settle in. Like I said, it does not look to bad from the pic.

Slow drip over 2 hours. And yeh it looked good under t5s from my other tank but the fixture on its tank is the small led one that I will add a pic of later. Do I need to get another t5 fixture? Cause like I said when I switched to t5 it looked good. When I switched to led looks not good.

Gbta's need good lighting to survive. It is possible the led is not bright enough and you may need to look at other lighting. What size tank is it in and is it a well established tank?

6 gallon. It's been going solid for around 4 months I'd say never had any problems. I'll be moving it to my larger tank when the tank is established enough.

what type of LED's are they? People are always talking about BTA's needing lots of light, but the truth is, in this LED era, too much light seems to be the problem now. More then likely that is why it does well under the T-5's vs the LEDs.

Alright well im going out to the Luke Bryan concert at the strawberry festival now and it wasn't looking good so I took the nova extreme from my reef and say it over the fowlr for now and it livened up slightly. Should I just trade them off till I get another because I don't think the LEDs are cutting it

I would do whatever makes it happy! IME you need to have a tank slightly more mature than yours to keep BTA's happy - six months is generally considered about the minimum. I also tried ur a little early (the first time) and that nem moved & moved until it ended up meeting it's end in a powerhead. +1 on leaving it be though, they will always find the best spot for themselves.

Update. Seems as if he just likes his sleep. At night he crawls into the cave and stays there through the morning. When I get home around lunch he's out and about though. He loves to devour silversides and seems to be doing well under the factory LEDs supplemented by my nova extreme t5ho system.
