As my nickname suggests I'm addicted to corals. But I am also up for a challenge. After mastering keeping and growing SPS corals (tests, dosing, feeding, fragging, more tests and more dosing), I decided to try a carpet anemone. I cleared a large area of my 4ft 60 gallon tank just to accommodate it.
I bought one today. LFS was selling as "Yellow" carpet anemone but we all know it's just a bleached green anemone. It looked healthy enough for me to buy it. I touched it when I was placing it in the main tank after acclimation and the anemone felt very sticky which I believe is a sign of a healthy anemone. I guess we shall see. Without further ado, here are the photos.

Good sign! If he is having trouble setting his foot, try placing him in a crevice between two rocks (with sand underneath) or place him with his foot at the margin where your rock pile meets the sand. He needs something to leverage to get his foot into the sand...

Ok thanks. I have two powerheads set on a wave maker. Flow goes one way for 40-60 secs and then the other way for the same time. Once I changed my settings to where flow goes only one way the anemone stopped lifting its foot. I will keep it like this till the anemone settles in and then go back to my regular setting that my reef is used to.
