Just saw what I think is a bristle worm. It seems to be living in a snail shell that I brought home with some blue hermits.

It's still in there....should I pull it?

It is red with what appears to be tiny white rings and white bristles.
 
Depends on the type of worm. Most bristle worms are beneficial detritus feeders but certain ones can cause problems. Best thing you cod do is get a pic on here and see if it is a problem.
 
The description sounds kinda like a fire worm which would be fine as long as you don't touch it. They sting. But like I said a pic is the only way to be sure.

Good worm, just don't pick it up barehanded. They hurt.


No doubt. I'm a guitar player and very protective of my hands and fingers.

A while back I was reading the post about the toxins in marine tanks. I'm quite surprised that every LFS I visit never mentions the dangers of our hobby.
