My first plate coral feeding

I recently aquired a new flouro green plate coral (around 17cm in lenghts and 10cm in width). I was feeding my other LPS's with some brine shrimp (blased at them with a syringe) when i thought of feedng the plate. I started to think, dont they have sweepers that come out or somthing?, so i stared hard at him, no nothing. So i thought mapy between the vertical layers of hard tissue he suckes them in. This coral is rock hard, not a soft thing about him. So i sprayed him abit and what happens, tons of holes just open up out of no where and suck the brine up... I was like, what the hell, this was the collest thing i ever say a coral do.

Then it closed up back to its normal self. Im like, this guy is a solid rock, how does he just open up hoels like he is a softie?. Any of you guys now about thier anatomy?

Here is a pic of the guy under flash. Here is the guy after the halides go off and actinics are still in (no the colours where played with, thats the actinics affects on my olympus camera).

Happy reefing :).
