money is tight w/xmas in a week and bought some new parts for my banshee (my atv and my first hobby) so i bought what i could afford at this moment. a local store had a holiday sale for $4 a lb so i picked up close too 20lbs

well i went and grabbed another 5lbs of rock today and changed my aquascape up a lil bit. im thinking im just going to use this thread as my journal for myself on my progress and let all watch with me as i either succeed or fail lol

I would keep an eye out for a couple of larger pieces and make a cave... a little height looks good too.

ok so today i went and picked up some silicone since my sump had a slow leak where the return came in and picked up 11 more lbs of rock and the blue backround which really does make the water look so much more clear

ok so i picked up 55 more lbs of rock today and i think im done w/it for my tank. i also picked up a hydor koralia 1050gph circulation pump but i am returning it since i found a aquien (i think thats how its spelled) 950 gph one since it has a lifetime warranty, this is 2 take out the 2 big powerheads on the left in the pic. but this is what its looking like now. tell me what you all think.

Is your rock against the glass? If so, it will be a challenge to clean back there and spots may form where detritus collects and over time this can cause nutrient problems in the tank.

yes it is against the glass, you know i never even thought about cleaning the back of the glass but unless it would cause problems for me i dont think i want to move it since i couldnt get them to sit on the rocks any other way unless someone has some tips other than that putty stuff

Its actually all live rock except the big white piece in the front, got it for $2 lb si i snatched it lol. I broight a water sample to my saltwater adviser and he said i should be able to start w/2clowns by 2mrw so im going to give it a shot wish me luck. Going to pick up some test kits as well and start getting sime readings for myself.

Great job. Your tank is looking a lot better than the last time I saw it.
Are you getting enough flow on the left side of the tank?

nanito i have 2 powerheads from petco they are only about 450 gph 2gether but i did get a 1050 gph that hasnt been put in yet since i found one that moves 950 gph that has a lifetime warranty which i am going to pick up when i return the other on thursday. i am about to jump into the tank now and try to get some of the rock off of the glass as suggested above.

ok so i tryed to move the rocks away from glass and it didnt work well and ended up looking like **** with very little caves so after 3 hrs and 2 more new rocks added this is what i came up with and am sticking with.
