My first setup

Looks good, mate. One thing that I've picked up, is that you really wanna have your powerheads closer to the surface (not as far down as yours seem to be) - to create as much surface agitation as possible. This will help with oxygenation. You should still get enough flow within the tank.

Just my 2c... ;)

well finally i have life in my tank. i picked up 2 clowns today 5 hermits, 5 snails, 1 orange knuckle hermit, and 3 diff frags, also picked up and aqueon 1250 gph pump. pics to come later or 2mrw. so farr clowns are doing well seem healthy and active although will not eat any brine at the moment

ok i dont know the names of what they are but was told they are hardy and i wouldnt kill them lol

no the overflow i believe came w/the sump when bought by the previous owner. i picked it up used from my cousin for a price i couldnt pass up.

so i picked up 2 turbo snails and a sea hare since i have a huge algae bloom and a watchman goby and a new zenia. unfortunately i came home today and the sea hare guts were outside himself and was a goner so i removed him b4 he destroyed my tank.

Nice looking tank.i just set up a 55 g in october. I have a question though, i see you have added corals already, i was told that i couldnt for a good 6 months to a year, what were you told.

salty you hear diff things from alot of diff people, most say patience is best but as you see i have none. my lfs guy told me as long as my levels where good i was ok too start w/ hardy fish and some easy corals but only a lil at a time.im sure my live stock has added to my algae and cyano problem but also hear that this is all part of the process. i will say all my fish seem to be healthy as well as the few corals i have. my advise would be to fins either a local club or lfs (not petco) and talk to them and get some info from the and here and get started. my tank cycled in 2 weeks i believe because i bought all live sand and all my rock was live rock and cured b4 i put it in my tank. but again i am a complete newbie so please dont just follow in my steps im sure i need alot wrong but i am learning as i go . gl
