My First SPS I traded for

Just got this monti. I was told it is a red cap but it appears brown to me. It has been in my tank for two days now and there are small polyps that protrude. My questions are
1. can anyone ID it
2. there is a white corner of this triangle shaped piece. Should I be concerned? It was there when I got it.

White area is probably dead tissue but not a big deal as long as it is not extending. Reds tend to like a lot of light so I would move it up in light and also make sure your phosphates are low.

Wedge it in between some rocks that give it room to grow and plenty of light and decent flow and leave it alone. It will grow and color up as long as your tank is stable.
