Really, really nice looking tank! My nano has a t5 fixture right on the glass cover, so I don't see why this would be any different. If you start to notice bleaching then maybe you should move corals lower in case they don't like that much light.

How long has this been set up?

The side view looks like an entirely different tank :p

Do you have a CUC in there at all? Asking because of the view from the side.

hi ghostcon1

are you saying that i have too much light? some corals looks white actually..

tanks been set up around 5 month..i upgrade from 6 yo 40g softies tank dan 3 yo 30g lps tank..i throw all softies, keep some lps, but my butterflyfish eat them..

i very rarely clead the side glass, cos ussually we do not see from the side..for cuc i have 1 brittle star, thats all..dont have any snail..used to have astrea/turbo snail but get tired flipping them..never see any other snail in my country..

thx

For snails, I have trochus and cerinth snails, they can flip themselves and are really good, I have two of each.

I don't think you have too much light, however if they are bleaching you could move them down some. However, if the placement/size of the corals prevent this, then see if you can raise the height of your t5 fixture.

ok, i eill strat looking for the snail..how about urchin? good addition? i think they eat algae too..

back to lightning question..do you think more bulb beneficial? right under the bulb just a bare sand, too close to front glass..but right now i only have 195w for 240L tank..or i better buy a good balast? right now i use cheap china made balast..do you think atco/elbiru(the only expensive balast available here) will give more light output?

Some people have good experience with urchins, I haven't kept them in a reef tank before (only had one from a tide pool) so I can't give any advice on them.

Does your fixture have individual reflectors for each bulb? That will go a long way with maximizing your light output. In the Lighting, Filtration, and other equipment forum there is a tremendously long thread all about t5 lighting. I suggest reading there to see what their advice would be for maximizing your t5's to their best.
